“Come into his presence with songs of joy!”

Ps 100 (99): 2

Our Festal Shout History

The Festal Shout in Ireland began as a simple but powerful act of united praise, prayer, and proclamation. Christians from many traditions first gathered in August 2017 on the hill of Howth, overlooking Dublin, to declare the Lord’s victory over the city and its surrounding regions. That moment of shared worship became a seed of unity and spiritual courage. From that first coastal gathering, the vision has steadily widened. Over the past year especially, believers across the island have risen to proclaim a Festal Shout of Victory in their own localities — in Lurgan, Newry, Carlingford/Omeath, Drogheda, Howth, Donnybrook, Bray, Galway, Clare (Tulla), Tralee, Killarney, Cork (Millstreet), and Cork (Drimoleague). The movement crossed borders, with gatherings in Wales, Canada, and other parts of the United Kingdom, expressing a shared international desire to proclaim God’s triumph.

Some of these gatherings have been large; others small and intimate, meeting in homes, gardens, churches, and open spaces. Yet each one has carried the same heart: to lift a united cry of praise, to stand in faith for God’s renewing work, and to proclaim that Jesus has already won the victory over sin, evil, and every form of spiritual darkness. Together they remind us that even the smallest group, faithfully gathered, plays a vital part in the Lord’s ongoing work of renewal and revival.
