Introduction to Marie Beirne and the National Call to Become an Army of Praise
A National Call to be an Army of Praise invites God’s people to “make a joyful noise to the Lord” and to take up praise as a shared offering for the sake of the land. The Lord placed on Marie Beirne’s heart a desire to gather as many as possible to commit to an hour of praise each Saturday, ideally from 11am to 12 noon, for a full year. This hour is offered as a united response to the needs of the Church and the world, and as a way of lifting Jesus higher at a time when His truth and His divinity are often obscured by unbelief, negativity, and the darkness of a broken world.
Marie’s invitation speaks directly to this moment. She names how the presence and power of God can seem hidden, and how humanity can lose its way when the light grows dim. Yet she also shares the conviction that God has already given His people the answer. Praise will establish His presence among us. Praise will enthrone the Lord, release the victory of Calvary, and begin to heal and transform the land. Through praise, barriers fall, oppression is broken, and the authority of Jesus is acknowledged again.
The call includes a personal invitation: to take this hour into our own hands, to persevere, and to unite in loving and faith-filled praise. Marie reflects on the “wide and effective door” God is opening, and on the spiritual reality that rests over this hour. The shofar imagery expresses this sense of gathering and readiness — a call to come together, to declare new beginnings, to acknowledge Jesus as King, and to take up the weapon of praise rather than relying on our own strength.
The message is consistent: stop fighting the darkness alone and give the power back to God. At the sound of our praises, the Lord can intervene, save, restore, and set free. Praise creates the atmosphere where God’s present power is welcomed. It strengthens the spiritual life of the nation and unites believers, even when physically apart.
Marie’s own words encourage us to stay in praise until we are “clothed with power from on high,” and to remember that “the work and the weapon are one.” Her leadership within the Catholic Charismatic Renewal helped many recognise the Master’s call and respond with faith. This movement is not about organisation but about offering praise with trust, unity, and hope — believing that God is doing a marvellous work among His people.
“Come into his presence with songs of joy!”
