Jesus begins his journey (Mt 4:11-23)

John the Baptist has just been killed. Jesus leaves his hometown of Nazareth and heads to Capernaum, a small fishing village by the Sea of Galilee.

He proclaimed: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand”— signalled that God’s kingdom was already breaking into the present through his works.
